Robert Adams (b. 1937) has been photographing for over forty years years and has published many books of photographs about the transformation of the American
West. He is the recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim and MacArthur foundations, and in 2006 was awarded the Deutsche Borse Prize in Photography. He lives near the sea in Astoria,
Oregon, with his wife, Kerstin.
